Understanding the vehicle configuration
Suzuki offers the current-generation Jimny with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and selectable four-wheel drive. The reference automatic version has four gears. The three-door model offers considerably more luggage space with the rear seats folded: this explains the advantage of a two-traveller setup. Your rental vehicle’s specifications are confirmed on its information sheet.
Where can you travel with the Jimny?
The Suzuki Jimny is not offered for Masai Mara. Choose a Land Rover Defender or Toyota Land Cruiser for this destination.
The Jimny is an option for Amboseli, Naivasha and Hell’s Gate, Samburu, Tsavo or Magadi, depending on the season, road conditions and route approved by our team.
Who is the Jimny suitable for?
We recommend it to travellers looking for a compact 4x4, with limited luggage and a season-appropriate itinerary. It is easier to manoeuvre than a large expedition vehicle.
- A couple or two friends
- Travelling light
- First driving experience in Kenya
- Routes combining main roads and manageable tracks
What to check before booking
Luggage volume, the rainy season and certain tracks can change our recommendation. Send your planned route: our team will confirm whether the Jimny is suitable or suggest a more spacious vehicle.
- Luggage dimensions and number of bags
- Seasonal road conditions
- Range and planned stops
- Camping equipment requirements
